I-70 / Indianapolis International Airport / Six Points Rd.

Indianapolis, Indiana

We were responsible for the task of quantifying for the purpose of final payment for this earthwork contract. Under the direction of INDOT, we developed a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) of this 4.8-mile stretch of I-70, including two new interchanges and flood prevention channels that required moving 3.2 million cubic yards of earth. We merged our DTM with the original topographic survey, which was then used for the final pavement design. Upon completion of the paving contracts, we performed the same duties and measured an additional 1.2 million cubic yards, separating the quantity between three prime contractors, five construction contracts and 11 bridges.
